OK, now I can keep my eyes open to type haha. Looking back at last nights post, it is obvious that I was sleepy. haha.
We had lunch yesterday with my sister Bev before we went to the airport. It is always so great to spend time with her but I never seem to have enough time. I need to go back and just plan on spending a day or two there. We have always been very very close.
Friday after Marc and Jeremy got there, we went to mom's house in Red Oak and the boys picked up the china cabinets that mom had, Ryan and Mia are going to put them in their basement or maybe the dining room, not sure which. Mom still has so much stuff in her house back there, she needs to get back there and go thru things again and then either keep or sell the rest. Hopefully she can do that when she goes back this summer. Then she needs to sell that house or do something with it. It's not good to just let it sit vacant like that.
We had planned on going to the Redwoods in Anita for supper that night however it was snowing and the roads weren't the best so we just went to Dusty's there in Griswold. It wasn't near as good but it was fun with the boys. And it was nice to celebrate the boys birthdays. (Marc's a week late and Ryan's a day early). Then we had cake when we got home.
I have to say that I have acclaimated myself to Arizona weather very well, I about froze to death back in Iowa. It is freaking cold back there.
Tuesday when we got to Omaha, we went to the bank and did some business there with Ron's dads accounts, then went over to his house to check things out. We were also meeting Ron's cousin Skip for supper that night. In the meantime, we stopped over to the Horseshoe casino. Didn't do too bad. Then it was off to Red Lobster for supper with Skip. It is always a pleasure to see him. He and Ron have always been really close. Ron lived with his family alot when he was growing up. Skip said that Ron was a chick magnet for him. So he would take Ron with him to his girlfriends houses etc. I don't know where Ron would be in this whole estate thing without Skip. He has been a rock for Ron and given him some sound advise. Too bad we all didn't live closer.
Friday when we went to mom's house we stopped at my sister Cindy's who lives right next door to moms. And we visited with her. When we were cleaning out Ron's dad's house, Jenny took all of Dad's neckties to Cindy. Well Cindy took them and she quilted pillow using the neckties and gave it to Ron. It is just beautiful. It is all hand sewn and hand quilted. Cindy's mother in law taught he how to do it. She also has a quilt top made using the neckties, however, Jenny was going to pay to have it quilted but right now doesn't have the money, so I am going to pay to have it quilted. Ron was just speechless, he has something that he can always remember his dad by. What a tribute, as his dad always wore a tie to church and other special events and stuff. I am anxious to see it when it gets completed and plan on getting a quilt stand to display it on.

We spent the past week in Iowa and Omaha. We finally got Ron's dad's estate settled. Got all the bill paid and taxes etc paid on the estate and the money dispersed to his siblings. What a huge burden has been lifted off Ron's shoulders. The only thing left to do is sell the house. We had a very low offer on it, and two other people interested in it. So we will see what transpires in the next few months.
Enjoyed spending time staying with Ryan and Mia. They really have done a lot of work to the house they bought a year ago. New carpet in the basement, new furniture, and MIa has it fixed up so nice. Wish I had her flair for decorating. Loved meeting Libby. What an amazing dog. Ryan got her when he got called out to a dogg who had been hit by a car. Ryan didn't have the heart to put her down, so he and Mia spent two weeks nursing this dog to health. She is so obedient, well mannered, smart, just awesome.
Marc and jeremy were abvle to make ti dcown Friday afternoono and Sat AM., And Jenny and family were able to come up on Saturday. Had a great time wisth all them.
Yeesterday, Mia and I went to Omaha to the Westroads, and david's bridal shop to look at wedding dresses. I am so blessed to have her as a daughter in law. She is the best. The dress shoppinlg didn't go very well, it was just too overwhelming and we didn't see anything that Mia had envisioned so she will continure to look. We di fine a few possibilities in the catalog.

Life is good, Life is great, however this crud sucks
Not alot happening lately. Had been doing some yard work, finished a puzzle, spent some time shopping and went to the casino a few times. This weekend though is kicking my butt. I have bronchitis. GRRRRR, Mom has had a sinus infection, and since I never seem to have trouble with sinuses, mine went down to my chest as usual. Hopefully I will feel better soon. Had plans to go to a flag raising ceremony in North Tucson this afternoon with Blue Star Moms, however was too sick to go. I am so disappointed cuz it was so neat. The dedicated the new flag poles in a subdivision to all those who served past and present. Had a great speaker and the only mounted color guard in the nation there, Our Blue Star Mom president led the Pledge of Allegience during the ceremony. Then after was a catered meal and entertainment. Jacqueline said it was awesome.
We got mom a new Kitty last Friday. Her name is Lilly but we call her Diamond Lil. She is a little gray kitty about 8 months old. She is very laid back and the dogs don't bother her at all, however Snowball likes to intimidate her sometimes. Sometimes though Lil just ignores Snowball.
Ron is doing great,. He has been walking at least 2+miles eache day. Has not had any more problems since his hospital stay. He has not had a drink since then either. He said he feels so much better, better than he has since he can remember. I am so proud of him for all he has accomplished since the tragedy in January, but God does everything for a reason.
Wish I knew when Ryan was deploying so we can start planning our trip. And need to start planning for Marc's wedding in September. The sooner we can plan maybe we can get some good prices on airfare.
Mom talked to Uncle Ralph today. He got the pictures that I sent him of our Mt Lemmon trip. He was telling mom that their sister, Mary, is not doing very well, she has been ill for a long time but she is a hyperchondriac so its really hard to tell and she is 86, so i am sure she is not good. May the good Lord be with her and her family right now.
The kids all seem to be fine. Ryan had drill this weekend, haven't talked to Jenny and Marc for a few days. I know they are busy too. But the weather back there has been much better the past few days. Finally above freezing temps. Spring may show up there sometime or else this is like an indian summer. I know there can be lots of major snowstorms in March and April back there. In fact the year I turned 20, i said it would be a cold day in hell when I quit being a teenager, and we had one of hte worse blizzards on my birthday. Then the spring after Ron and I were married in 1998 we had a horrendous blizzard toward the end of April and were snowed in at home for a few days. The weather here in Arizona though has been great. Nice to have all the windows open and the fresh air in. Should open the pool so it can start warming for the summer.

Wow it has been a very very busy past few weeks. We have been busy doing things around the house and yard. Laid pavers beside the driveway, painted the new facia board and some trim work, trimmed bushes, put rock in the cactus garden, and I don't remember what else but we were just hopping all the time. Then Uncle Ralph and Danny got here last Sunday evening from Iowa. We really had a nice visit with them, they left to go back this morning. We took them to the Desert Museum, Titan Missle Museum, San Xavier Mission, and Mt. Lemmon. We were going to go to Old Tucson Studios however, Uncle Ralph was too tired to go (he is 82). But they both enjoyed the sightseeing as they had neither been to Arizona before.
Mom's cat Callie has not been acting herself and had hardly been eating or drinking, and she kept shaking her head and acted like she might have an ear infection or something so we took her to the vet today to be checked out. Well the vet sent her to an emergency vet hospital for more evaluation and treatment. We got over to the hospital, and found out Callie was severely anemic, had hardly any white blood cells and had a huge abdominal mass. We could have spent literaly thousands of dollars for the vet to verify what he already knew, Callie was full of cancer. So mom opted to have Callie put down. She didn't want Callie to be in pain and suffer. And even though they could have confirmed the diagnosis, the outcome would have been the same. We were just not prepared for the news. It is quite a shock to take Callie in to get an antibiotic or some ear drops and then to have to put her down.Needless to say Mom is just devastated. She has Callie for 6-7 years. So tomorrow, I am going to start looking for another Calico cat for mom. A new cat will not replace Callie with her personality and such but it will help mom get over her loss.
It is hard to believe that Monday will be the first of March already. This year has only started and two months gone already. Why does it seem like the time flies by faster the older we get, Sunday night we have tickets to go see Tracy Lawrence in Concert. Boy am I looking forward to that since I am his biggest fan. Then we need to start planning on our Iowa vists before Ryan leasves this summer for Afghanistan and Marc's wedding in September. Also would love to go to Utah and see Sarah this spring and still try to work in our Hawaii trip.
With that I am going to go to bed, it has been a most traumatic, stressful day and I am exhausted. Have lots of errands to run tomorrow so hope everyone has a great week.

What a great week
We have really gotten alot accomplished around the house this past week. Still have a lot to do though. Just getting the momentum to get it all done,.
Ron is feeling better everyday. It is so nice to see him so relaxed and enjoying life for a change. He teases me about all the honey do's I have for him when in actuality, he loves doing these things. He put pavers beside the driveway for me last weekend. They looks so nice and he did a really good job. He is such a perfectionist when it comes to doing things like that. I would really like to do the same thing on the other side of the driveay now but I don't think I will bring it up just yet. Maybe in a month or two. I think today I will let him have the daly off and relax. Then tomorrow I will have him finish painting the facia board and trim around the front door. Would like to have that done before Ralph and Danny get here this weekend.
I had my Blue Star Mothers meeting tonight. For those who do not know what Blue Star Moms is all about, it is a support group of moms who have kids serving or have had kids serve in the military. It is great to share my feeling with other moms and find out they are having the same feelings. I know taht I won't be going through Ryan's deployment alone. Out meetings last aaskbout an hour, then thouse who can, go to Applebee's for supper afterwards for more chit chat and just spending the evening together.
Uncle Ralph and cousin Danny will be here for a few days this weekend so we are really looking forward to their visit, then we will plan out trip to Hawaii. One of my BSM used to be a travel agent, so she can help us with where to go and what to see and do when we are over there.
I am a great aunt again. Jackson William Hamman was born last Thursday morning. I am anxiously awaiting pics of him. Bev and Kenny got to Colorado about the time that Rebecca went into labor. Jason is so excited and probably a little sleep deprived from being a new daddy, but all is well there. Bev and Kenny went back home on Monday, and Becca's mom is staying this week to help Becca and Jason get everything settled., Congrats to the Hamman family....,,
Ryan is in Charlotte NC this week for a class for the sheriff's dept. It is a class on Domestic and Sexual Abuse investigation. If I remember right, it is a 4 day class. He left on Monday and will be home tomorrow or Friday. He will then be the investigator for those situations in Cass Co. Ryan I think has found his niche as a deputy sheriff. Sure is funny as ornery as he was growing up, but he always did have respect for the law. Plus my best freinds were law enforcement officers, so he grew up with that influence. Ryan and Mia have been re-doing their bathroom. Mia has hated the decor in the bathroom since the bought the house, even though they had to wait for the owner to totally redecorate the whole house before they could buy it, Mia hated hated hated the bathroom, so they ripped out the wallpaper and painted, they were planning on putting in a new vanity and mirror and new towel racks etc., I think Mia's family are coming down next week to help them finish all that and help Ryan do some other things that he can't do alone.
Marcus and Jeremy are busy planning their wedding in Sept. It is going to be at the Iowa State Historical Bldg in downtown Des Moines. With working at Ia Dept of Public Health and Bass Pro Shoppe, I don't know where he finds the time. I am really happy that he has found someone. Since he is so busy, I don't find that I have a lot of time to talk to him anymore. I think about calling then remember it is an hour later there than here so it is too late. Sure wish we were all closer so that I could do more help with the wedding planning. They have a really nice newer townhouse in Altoona. It has as much room I think as my house does.
Jenny got a new daushound puppy for her birthday. They call him Cosmo. Jenny said he is the cutest little thing, and their other dog Macy thinks that he is her baby. Maybe Cosmo will help Macy with her separation anxiety and she won't tear up the house while everyone is gone. The kids are all doing well in school. They just had a 4 day weekend and spent it in Oakland with their dad. Hopefully Paul will be back to work soon, the company he worked for closed without notice a year ago around Christmas time. He has done some odd carpenter jobs on the side and has had his unemployment but that ready to run out, and the unemployment insurance they had on their mortgage runs out this month, so they will have their house payments due again, plus with all the bitter cold and snow back there, their utility bills are through the roof. They are struggling but they will make it through this I am sure, I know that I was able to survive through hard times like that.
Time to get started on the house and plan my day. I will continue with updates on how things are going soon

I have such an adoring husband
Ron had a dr appt today. It went really well. His blood pressure was 117/70.. That is awesome. Especially since when we first met, he was taking 3 hi potent blood pressure medications at the same time to control his blood pressure. Sure goes to show you how much stress and unhappiness can affect your health.
We spent most of the day shopping. Not for anything in particular, just more browsing around the stores. It was nice and relaxing and tiring at the same time.
When we got ready to leave Walmart, let me tell you it was pouring rain but by the time we drove the couple miles to Dr D'Souza's office, it had pretty much quit. Then it rained off and on the rest of the afternoon, but seemed to let up everytime we had to go out to the car.
Ron is wanting to take me to Hawaii. Now just need to find decent prices and decide on a time to go. Maybe for my birthday? But we are going to Iowa early in the summer before Ryan leaves for Afghanistan, and also back to Iowa in September for Marc and Jeremy's wedding. And we also want to to to Utah and visit Sarah, Alex and Austyn, And we maybe even going in the next month to finish settling up on dad's estate. I love Ronnie for wanting to take me to Hawaii, but we will see if we have the time to go with all that is more of a priority. The financial part isn't the problem, it is trying to work everything into a schedule. I do know that if we don't go before Ryan leaves for Afghanistan, I WILL NOT go until he gets home again. I cannot be that far away from home if I am needed for something here.
Next week is Blue Star Moms. I am looking forward to going and being with all the other military moms. It is such a great group and such a great support for me. I didn't have this kind of support when Ryan went to Kuwait and his first tour in Afghanistan. The Tucson chapter was started a few months before he went to Iraq. and I felt so much better knowing that I was not alone in my feelings, and fears and happy moments. I know that I would not be able to endure this upcoming deployment without them. It is sad that Ryan won't be here for Marc's wedding. The boys are very close. But Mia will be there and Jenny will be there but it just won't be the same. I am stressing so bad about this already, I guess I am just an overprotective mom. HMMM, it would be great if the kids would be able to get away and go to Hawaii with us. Ryan and Mia were right after he came back from Iraq, so they know where to go and what to do. So we might have to work on that before we make our final plans.
I am going to be a great aunt again tomorrow. Jason and Becca (my sister Bev's son) will hopefully have their baby boy. Becca is being induced. So I want to stay close to the phone and computer so that Bev can call or email me pics of this little man. This will be her second grandson. Collin will be two on Sept 6th. Collin is Bev's daughter Angie's son. He is so adorable. Such a good baby So anyways Bev and Kenny wer driving from Red Oak IA to Colorado today so they will be there when the baby is born. I am getting really excited. I was hoping Becca would deliver on either Jan 28th (my dad and granddaughter Rylee's birthdays) or on Valentine's Day which is Jenny's birthday. But it will be nice too for the baby to really have his own birthday.
Well until we get more together on travel iteneraries, and Ryan gets a definate date on deployment, then everything is really on hold for now and I will update as things develop.

I am going to be a great aunt again tomorrow. Jason and Becca (my sister Bev's son) will hopefully have their baby boy. Becca is being induced. So I want to stay close to the phone and computer so that Bev can call or email me pics of this little man. This will be her second grandson. Collin will be two on Sept 6th. Collin is Bev's daughter Angie's son. He is so adorable. Such a good baby So anyways Bev and Kenny wer driving from Red Oak IA to Colorado today so they will be there when the baby is born. I am getting really excited. I was hoping Becca would deliver on either Jan 28th (my dad and granddaughter Rylee's birthdays) or on Valentine's Day which is Jenny's birthday. But it will be nice too for the baby to really have his own birthday.
Well until we get more together on travel iteneraries, and Ryan gets a definate date on deployment, then everything is really on hold for now and I will update as things develop.

Ron's appointment with Dr Baddrudoja went fairly well. He doesn't seem to think that Ron will have any more problems at this point. The bad news is that Arizona has a law that if you have a seizure, then you cannot drive for 3 months from the date of the last seizure, so that means he won't be able to drive until April 3. He hates being dependant on someone to take him places and he was always so good about running to the store or little errands for me, so I miss that. But at least we do them together. We will get through this period. February is a short month and it is nice really going places together too.
Today we will paint the facia board that the boys replaced when they were here. We got the paint, and everything we needed the other day. I also need to finish weeding the front and sides of the house and other yard work (raking the gravel). Then we have decided to put some paving stones along side the driveway so that it is easier for mom to get in and out of the car. Right now there is a row of rock there. I found the ones I wanted yesterday at Lowe's but we had the car so didn't get them. We need to take the pickup today. I also want to get more and make a sidewalk from the back gate to the front of the garage, That will certainly make it easier to get the trash cans to to the curb on trash day. But we will wait to do that in the near future, first I gotta figure out how many I need.
I spoke with the boys yesterday, they are all doing fine at that end. Ryan is getting ready to go to North (or is it South) Carolina for 4 days of training in Domestic and Sexual Abuse investigations. He will then be the investigator for that type of thing at the sheriff's office. He gets his promotion this weekend to Platoon Sgt in the Guard. Wish I could be back there for that. He is switching from Corning Unit to Denison Unit after this weekend. I know he will be happier with the Denison Unit, and he has gone to Afghanistan with them so knows most of the guys there. The sad news is that he has to go in May to training for their upcoming Afghanistan deployment. God how I hate to see him go again. This will be his 4th overseas tour and his second to Afghanistan. Maybe it will be his last. He has 15 years in now and can retire in 5 more years. I was hoping that they would cancel his mission however, it is the whole battalion that is going 3500 troops from Iowa, so don't think that will happen. Maybe and hopefully he and Mia will get married before he goes.
Marc is busy working two jobs. One at Iowa Dept of Public Health and the other part time at Bass Pro Shop. What was going to be maybe 2 days a week has turned into more it seems, but he enjoys the job and is saving money for his wedding this September to Jeremy. Iowa allows same sex marriages. So that is in our future plans. Should be a nice ceremony and time. We like Jeremy too so that is a big plus. Wish I was back there so that I could do more help with the planning.
Of course, Jenny is busy at home with the kids. Gage and Tyler were playing basketball but I think that is done now. Gage will go out for track again this spring. He did really well last year. And it was so nice seeing all the kids and parents root for him. Rylee stays busy doing things at church, and Braden just announced on FaceBook that he now has a girlfriend. Jenny has done so much in the church and even led a group for addicts. She has been drug free now for over 4 years. I am so proud of her. She has done very well in her "sobriety". She attends NA and also MOMs (mom's off meth). It's great to see her doing so well, and overcoming her past.
We keep in contact with Sarah, Alex and Austyn via email and FaceBook. Oh how I wish we could go up to see them and meet that darling granddaughter and son in law. Not to mention how wonderful it would be to see Sarah. I has broken my hear that she and Ron were estranged for so many years and now they can maybe have the father daughter relationship they both so deserve. It is horrible that anger between ex's has to separate the kids. And I know that it was Ron's anger and hurt over the divorce that kept him from the kids. Even though Chris was his step son, he still felt that he was his own and will feels that way today. I want them all to have a relationship. As far as going to Utah to see them, we could do it anytime now but we need to be sure that it is ok for the kids and that they will be home. We are going to work on that and soon.

Things are going wonderfully. Ron had a great appointment with Dr Sora, had his medications adjusted and feeling much better. Tomorrow he goes to see Dr Baddradoja (the neurologist) and hopefully will be released to drive. It has been a tough January but he got through it and I know that God will not take you to what he cannot lead you through. After Ron's incident, I think it opened his eyes to some issues and he is able to deal with those issues now. For the first time in a long time, he enjoys life, he laughs alot, and is overall happier.
We are slowly getting things done around the house. This week we will paint the new facia that the boys put up while they were here. And going to tackle the never ending yard work. But it is good to be able to work outside year around. And when it is done, a nice long soak in the hot tub is just what the doctor ordered. Too bad it is still too cool to swim. Maybe this year we will put in a solar heater in the pool and be able to use it year around. But shouldn't be to much longer before it is warm enough again.
It was so wonderful to have all my kids here the first half of January. The grandkids we very good and had an awesome time. We took them to all our favorite places to visit. Then when the boys came out, again it was back to all the favorite places. We even took the trailride at Colossal Cave. how neat it was to ride into the desert like that on horseback. Even Ryan and Jeremy who don't like horses loved it and would do it again. I know I would do it again in a heartbeat.
My only regret is that Sarah, Alex and Austyn haven't been here so that we can show them around. Maybe that can be arranged in the near future or we can go up there for a day or two.
That would be just awesome to play with Austyn and meet Alex and see Sarah and to get caught up on everything and really really get to know them all. We would love to see Chris too, even though Chris was Ron's step son, Ron always has considered him his own. Another great day
Ron had a very good appointment with Dr. Sora yesterday. He switched out some of his medication and put him on some vitamins. But Ron is doing much better. Next week he goes back to Dr Baddradoja (the neurologist). We will see what he has to say about the memory loss, vision changes, and trouble with numbers.
Today, mom and I went to get pedicures, and nails done. Then we ate lunch at NIMBUS, did some shopping, then picked up my glasses. Then it was home to veg.
I have now lost a total of 64 lbs. WooHoo. I only have about 40 more to go. I will get there, I am having trouble with my clothes fitting me. It used to be they were too small, now they are too big, that is a great feeling, but sort of sad too when my favorite clothes don't fit or something I have worn only 1-2 times. I am trying to hold out buying too many new things until I reach my goal weight. And the best thing is I know that I will be able to keep this weight off.
Tomorrow is our 12th anniversary. Ron got me a diamond tennis bracelet that he gave to me early. I got him a blu-ray player and a Terry Redlin print. I have to admit like all married couples, there have been arguments and disagreements, but all in all we have a wonderful rich fulfilling marriage. Ron is so thoughtful and so helpful around the house.
We bought our home last May. We were fortunate enough to be able to pay cash for it. We have had fun furnishing our home how we want it, We put in an above ground swimming pool and a spa. Now just waiting for it to get warm enough to swim again. But the hot tub has been great this winter. It is never too cold to get in there. We are contemplating putting a solar heater in the pool so that we can use it year around.
Mom lives with us. And that is working out very very well. We have lots of fun shopping, decorating, and playing. We go to the casino occasionally, and that is always fun. Sometimes we win and most times we lose but it's fun. When Ron and I were working, she is so good to do the cooking. However, I have to say, I don't like her driving. hehe. So I or Ron drive most places. But is is rewarding to take care of her for a change, or maybe it is she is taking care of us.
Well off to get some shakes at Sonic. So will post again soon.

Old Times and New Beginnings
Wow, everyone is blogging nowadays so thought I should keep up with the trend.
On Saturday, Jan, 30th, Ron and I will celebrate our 12th anniversary. It has been a fast 12 years but a wonderful 12 years and I cannot imagine my life without this amazing man.
We moved to Tucson in Feb 2006, and it has been the best move of our lives. Although I miss my kids in Iowa, I don't know if I would ever want to move back there. Tucson has everything there is to offer and everything is close. As far as moving out here, I think I had to wean myself away from the kids. They are all adults and I worried about them constantly if they were late getting home from someplace and stuff like that. It was hard to tell myself that they were grown up responsible people and not to worry, but as a mom it is hard.
Ron and I enjoy exploring the hidden treasures here in Arizona, we love to to go to places like Colossal Cave, Desert Museum, Mt Lemmon, driving through the desert, Old Tucson studios, the old missions near Tucson to name a few.
Until we moved to Tucson, Ron and I barely saw each other as we worked different shifts so we would only meet in passing. That was very hard for me, I felt like I had a phantom husband, and he always worked nights so even if I was off during the day, he was sleeping so missed out on family gatherings and we missed so much time together.
We moved to Tucson so Ron could take a job at SkyWest Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. I was born in Arizona and lived here until we moved to Iowa in grade school so I was excited to come back "home". Ron immediately fell in love with the town and surroundings and said for the first time he felt he was HOME.
That is the old, now for the new beginnings
This year has begun with changes in our lives. I resigned from my job at Tucson Medical Center as a unit clerk, it is a long story but it was the right decision for me and the timing was perfect looking back now.
On Jan 3, Jenny and her family were visiting for a late Christmas, and Jenny's and I were out and about at the Tanque Verde Swap meet, when my mom called frantic and told me Ron had fallen and to get home, the medics were on their way. Well we dropped eveything had headed directly to TMC to wait for Ron to get there via ambulance.
Evidently, Ron was getting ready to go to the mall, and as he got to the front door, he has a seizure and fell face first onto the floor. He laid unconcious mom said for at least 5-7 minutes and had a cut on his forehead. Understand in Arizona, there are no basements, and we have a concrete floor with tile. So there is no give to that floor. CT results showed 3 areas with bleed in the brain. So it was inpatient status for him. The bleeds were small and the neurologist and neurosurgeon didn't seem to be so much worried about the bleeds as they were about why he had the seizure. Was it medication? Was it the fact that he had been drinking after stopping for awhile and so like a withdrawl type seizure, Was he drinking with medication that caused the seizure? That is still to be determined, I guess only God knows the true answer. But in any case Ron could have died that day, and he knows now that there is no way he can drink and risk another seizure if that was the culprit.
I am happy to report that he has had no further seizures since then that we know of, however, on the downside, is Ron has trouble with his short term memory, in fact he doesn't remember what I got him for Christmas or things that happened around the time of this incident and sometimes doesn't remember things from earlier in the day. He also has a hard time counting numbers, so we play a lot of yahtzee where he has to count. That may be getting a little better.
He has also noticed that his eyesight is getting a little worse, he can't read the fine print like he used to. He goes back to the neurologist next week and we will discuss things with him then.
Ron's short term disability and FMLA ran out at work and we don't know when he will be released from the neurologist, so he resigned yesterday for health reasons. Ron is also very very scared of having another seizure while working atop an aircraft or lift. Also the stress of the job was really really getting to him, which also could contribute to the seizures. So in a nutshell here, Ron and I both are "retired" at this time. He has his military retirement and we paid cash for our home, so we only have our monthly expenses. So we can enjoy this time together for awhile. Ron can go back to SkyWest in the future when he can be assured that he will have no more seizures. Right now we may both just look for part time jobs and remain semi retired.
